Tales from the Table

Live Storytelling in Lexington, Kentucky

Hi, I'm Susannah!

Susannah Roitman was born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky. After living in San Francisco and Brooklyn for ten years, she returned to Lexington, Kentucky to raise her child and has been there ever since. She has been telling stories since she was very young, using her vivid imagination to invent, embellish, and expound. Her journey as a performer started by performing plays for her neighbors and friends. To combat the ennui during Covid, she took an online class to improve her storytelling skills and keep herself engaged.

Since then, she has been entertaining audiences with her funny, poignant, and always entertaining tales, drawing from her own experiences about her Jewish Southern identity, sex, friendship, and Maine Coon cats, among other topics. Roitman is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, tornado enthusiast, synesthete, a two-time Moth performer, initiator of the 'Tables from the Table' storytelling evening, and coaches emerging storytellers in their craft. She is also a regular at the Horse’s Mouth and Central Kentucky Jewish Association Storytelling .

Not ready to tell a story just yet? Here are some resources.

1.  Yours Truly!   For just the low price of a cup of coffee, I am excited to offer my services to listen to or read your story. Together, we can workshop your personal narrative to refine and practice your storytelling skills. You will leave our session with a deeper understanding of the 4 C’s of storytelling, as well as unique ideas on how to curate and craft your very own story. If you're interested, please let me know, and we can set up a time to connect!
